Year-End Reflection
The reason why the samples I have chosen should be included into my portfolio, is because these samples show the best of my working abilities and my hard work i put into it. For example I choose my “ Conflict Essay” that I did for humanities. This piece shows much improvement in my ability to synthesize a document. In the beginning of the year I have struggled to expand my analysis of information given. Now my grades are improving and I’m finding it easy and natural to write 4 page essays. Another piece that I want to put in my portfolio is my comic strip that I did on selective breeding. The reason why i want to include this piece in there is because, I have never been talented in science. I could never find a way to get successful grades in that class. I worked long hours on the comic strip and by the time i was done, I was feeling very proud of myself before I have had handed it in. When I got the work back i was very proud of my grade. Some of the strengths being shown in the work in this portfolio shows the critical thinking I have put into it. It also shows my creativity and ability to take notes in order to describe a setting.
My writing has changed alot over the Transition from Middle School to High School. I used to hate writing essay and to look down upon my writing. I have changed so much in my critical thinking and expressing ideas that I have become proud to show off my work to my teacher and fellow classmates.
One thing i need to work on is how to organize my paragraphs when I’m writing essays. When I’m typing it, my writing seems right but when I hand in my assignment my teachers are confused about my ideas.Another thing I need to work on is my grammar. I constantly always forget to check my work and it leaves some of my sentences really confusing.
Overall, my portfolio is going to show on how i progressed over the year and the effort i put into my assignments.
